JRF Posts

  1. JRF01 – M.Sc. in Chemistry/Geochemistry/Applied Science/Geology/Environmental Science (60% marks)

    • Work: Geothermal fluid analysis, sampling, field work in Himalayan terrain.

    • Desirable: NET/GATE qualification.

  2. JRF02 – Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering along with an M.E./M.Tech in Electrical, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy, or Control & Automation, with at least 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA).

    • Work: Field visits, operation of instruments, drone surveys, data monitoring.

    • Desirable: Valid drone pilot certification, NET/GATE.

  3. JRF03 – Master’s in Remote Sensing/Geoinformatics/Geology (60%) OR B.Sc./B.Tech in Geoinformatics (60%).

    • Work: Satellite data interpretation, thematic mapping, drone data analysis.

    • Desirable: NET/GATE qualification.

RA Posts

  1. RA01 – M.Sc. in Earth Science/Geology/Structural Geology OR B.Tech. in relevant subject (60%) with 3 years’ experience + 1 SCI research paper.

    • Work: Geological mapping, rock sampling, reservoir geology, fieldwork.

    • Desirable: Ph.D. in relevant subject, GIS & remote sensing software skills.

  2. RA02 – M.Sc./M.Tech. in Geophysics/Applied Geophysics/Geology OR B.Tech. in relevant subject (60%) with 3 years’ experience + 1 SCI research paper.

    • Work: Geophysical surveys, subsurface profiling, geothermal reservoir analysis.

    • Desirable: Ph.D. in relevant subject, 2D/3D modeling software expertise.

Salary Details

  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF): ₹37,000 + HRA (10%)

  • Research Associate (RA): ₹58,000 + HRA (10%)

  • As per DST guidelines, JRF positions may be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the third year with a revised fellowship of ₹42,000 + HRA.
