Post Basic (B.Sc. Nursing) Programs 

The Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing program is designed for in-service nurses aiming to upgrade their knowledge and skills to meet the evolving health needs of society. The program is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and combines theoretical and practical components to ensure comprehensive learning.

Program Objectives:

  • Provide opportunities for in-service nurses to enhance their professional competencies.
  • Develop teaching, administrative, and research skills among nurses.
  • Promote personal and professional growth for better career opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • For Candidates with 10+2 Qualification:

    • 12th Passed and  three years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
    • A minimum of two years of experience (after registration as Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife - RNRM).
    • Male nurses who have not completed midwifery in the GNM program should have a certificate in any nursing course of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery.

  • For Candidates with 10th Qualification:

    • 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent with three years Diploma in GNM.
    • Five years experience (after registration as RNRM).
    • Male nurses without midwifery training should have a certificate in any nursing course of 6-9 months duration as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council.

Admission Process:

Admission is based on the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by IGNOU. Candidates must submit the filled-in application form with self-attested copies of the required documents. Original documents are to be presented for verification during counseling sessions.

    • Fill in the required registration details accurately.
    • Create username and password
    • Submit the registration form.
    • The username will sent to you through email and SMS.

  2. Filling the Application Form:

    • Log in using your username and password.
    • Filled the application with personal and educational details.
    • Upload scanned copies of your passport-sized photograph and signature (each less than 100 KB).

  3. Payment of Application Fee:

    • Pay the application fee of INR 1,000 through Credit Card (Master/Visa), Debit Card (Master/Visa/Rupay), or Net Banking.

  4. Submission and Printout:

    • Review the application form carefully before final submission.
    • After submission, download the filled-in application form in PDF format.
    • Print the application form
